Kandi Steiner is a Creative Writing and Advertising/Public Relations graduate from the University of Central Florida living in Tampa. Kandi works full time as a social media specialist, but also works part time as a Zumba fitness instructor and blackjack dealer.

Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. “Well…” I
stop to clear the rasp from my voice. “If there’s no picture of us together, we
should take one.”
“Good
idea.” He crooks his finger at me, unwittingly sealing his fate. “Come here.”
I put my
jacket on downstairs when I thought we were leaving, but I take it off now,
simply letting it fall. “I want you in the mayor’s chair.”
His eyes
stray to my pooled jacket, then tick to mine. “You what?”
“In the
picture. I want you sitting in the chair.”
“Oh.
Right.” He slides out the brown leather, high-back executive chair and drops
into it. “What about you?”
My bravery
slips. Whose wouldn’t? This powerful, gorgeous man sits before me, outlined by
the city he’s been elected to run. His thighs are thicker than my waist, his
sleeves caught up around his elbows. A strong man. A man of conviction who will
not be seduced unless he really wants to be.
Or is driven
out of his mind and can’t resist.
Before I
can second-guess myself, I move between his outstretched thighs and ease myself
onto his lap. “Addison.”
I send him
an innocent look over my shoulder. “Yes, Captain?”

The fact
that I’m playing with fire stops psyching me out…and begins to excite me. Maybe
it’s the gravel in his tone…or the big fists that come to rest on the desk.
No…it’s definitely the way he presses his nose to my hair and inhales. As if
I’m not going to notice. But I do. I do and it makes me braver. Makes me throb
between my legs.
“The
picture, Addison.”
“Sorry.” I
lean across the desk where I set my purse, taking my time digging through to
find my cell before pulling it out, searching for the camera app. All the
while, his muscles bunch beneath me, harder and harder…and that’s when I feel
it. His erection lifts under my backside, so thick and glorious, I bite my lip
to stop from crying out. I want to, though. I want to sob at the proof that
he’s physically attracted to me and at least I have that much.
My hands
are shaking as I lift the camera, my instincts screaming at me to grind down.
Elijah’s breath is pelting the back of my neck. Other than that he’s completely
still, though. But when I flip the camera around to selfie mode and get my
first look at his face, there isn’t a jury on the planet that would rule him
unaffected. His eyes are closed, nostrils flared, mouth open against my hair.
“You’ve got five seconds,” he says. “Take it, or—”
“Or what?”
Elijah stands up and takes me with him, my ass pressed to his lap, feet
dangling off the ground. As if I weigh nothing more than a child. It only lasts
for a couple mind-blowing seconds, though, before he settles me on the ground
behind his desk. His heat begins to leave me and I sense my chance slipping
away, so I twist around to face him. Still mere inches away from me, he pauses
with his head tipped forward, hands flexing at his sides. “We could be more
than friends.” After easing myself backwards onto the desk, I snag his necktie
and tug him closer, guiding his hips between my open thighs. “Just for
tonight.”
His laugh
is more like a rough expulsion of air, the scent of bourbon hitting me. “That’s
not how things work,” he says, his palms scraping up my thighs, twisting in the
hem of my dress. “Goddammit, Addison. You’re not supposed to tempt me like
this.”
Tempted.
He’s tempted. My blood cells crash together. “I don’t always do what I’m
supposed to,” I murmur, leaning up to bring our mouths close, a breath
separating them. “If I wasn’t your friend, would you kiss me right now?”
His eyes
fasten on my mouth, seeming darker than usual. Predatory. “You felt what you
did to my cock, sugar. You know the answer to that.”

Author Bio

Tessa
Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school
graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving
cross-country to New York City in under four days.
Her most
valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees,
a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her
husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put
herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace
University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force
as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her

The guy only laughed once we both popped up. 
I swam towards Maddy, and tugged her against me. “Stop
running.”
“I’m not.” Her breath came out raspy. “I’m just…reliving old
times, isn’t that what you wanted? So we could have closure?”
Why did it feel like she was turning the tables on me. 
“Yeah,” I said slowly, “But—“
Her kiss was swift. 
Hard. 
Fast, and oh so very punishing as I gaped into her mouth and
pinned her against he side of the pool. 
Music filled the air out of nowhere from somewhere outside,
it pounded into my ears the way I wanted to pound into her. 
I grinned against her mouth as she wrapped her legs around
my waist. 
And then Reid cast a shadow over us and started pouring
vodka over our heads. 
Maddy tilted her head back and opened her mouth while I
leaned in and licked it off her chin. 
People cheered. 
“Guys!” Someone yelled. “Keep it down, someones going to
call the cops!”
“Cops?” Max laughed loudly. “I am the law, bitches!” The
music blared. “Plus, we already got our cop here.” He pointed while I took
another shot. 
People cheered. 
And then Maddy squeezed her thighs. 
Yeah the cops were coming alright. 
Michel’s Review
The gang is back from Rachel Van Dyken’s Consequence series and Max is determined that Jason is going to get his happily ever after even if it kills him.  This time around instead of a Bridezilla,two black eyes from ping pong balls, and a severe allergic reaction, Jason has to face his past. The one that got away. The one that severed his heart. The one who has returned home after ten years and is trying to make amends. Should he let the past stay in the past or should he take some of Max’s illicit advise. Either way it could be dangerous to his heart and hopefully not to his physical being.
I have been waiting for Jason’s book to release.  This poor guy has been put through the ringer and survived.  His well intended friends and family have tormented this poor guy. He needs a break and for someone to kiss all of his booboos.
Rachel Van Dyken brought Jason full circle without it hurting him too much.  I thoroughly enjoyed Jason’s journey to happily ever after. I needed the giggles that came along with this romantic comedy.

Michel’s Review

Jewel E. Ann has done it again with her latest release, Transcend. Transcend is part one of the Transcend Duet and is unlike any other book Jewel E. Ann has written and is quite different from other books in the romance marketplace.

As a writer Jewel E. Ann has become a favorite among the romance genre readers because of her ability to blend emotional subject matter that can make any soul ache with a balance of witty humor that lets the reader know that no matter what happens her characters will be okay.  She touches upon many facets of life with it’s ups and downs, glorious imperfections, and challenging obstacles which takes her characters on an emotional journey and makes them stronger before the ending is near. Readers don’t have to wait for the happy ever after at the end, they get to experience it along the way.

Transcend is quite different from other Jewel E. Ann books. For one thing there is an unusual kind of love triangle. The typical love triangle leaves the heroine in a dilemma of choosing one man over the other. This love triangle is three very separate individuals who find themselves in a very unique kind of situation. Two of the individuals are on the course of happily ever after where they are meant to be when life throws them a curveball that most people would not know how to deal with. The “curveball” is the other man and he is definitely not trying to come between these two lovers. In fact he would rather not venture outside his safe emotional box but there is a little girl depending on him, a girl from the past reaching out for him, and a nanny who seems to know how to handle it all.

I was drawn into Transcend the moment I started reading the first chapter. I quickly became immersed in the story and fell hopelessly in love with both men in very different ways. I tried to figure out where this story was going but there are so many different kinds of theories to come into play and I know Jewel E. Ann is going to surprise us all. When I finished Transcend I had to look up the release date for Epoch- Part Two of Transcend Duet. Readers can relax, Jewel is not going to torment them with a long wait. Epoch will release April 9, 2018, exactly two weeks after Transcend releases.

I highly recommend reading Transcend by Jewel E. Ann!

I’m not going to lie. In all of the books in the Forbidden Desires series by author Kendall Ryan, it was Quinn Kingsley that caught my eye. Quinn, the eldest brother, Quinn the somewhat mysterious one that keeps things close to the vest, Quinn, the brother that doesn’t have a revolving door of women at the ready. So, color me excited when TEMPTING LITTLE TEASE came along, the book that would finally give some insight into this man.

Now, let me begin by saying that, while I’m sure that love at virtually first sight exists, I’m not the biggest fan of insta-anything. You know, I like the build, the slow burn, the finessing of the relationship. But, this is Quinn. And because it’s Quinn, and because Kendall Ryan saved the best for last, well, this story works just wonderfully for me.

When the disparity in age between Quinn and Alessandra was made clear, I’m pretty sure that my eyebrows reached my hairline. I mean, come on, Kendall, were you really going to play that card? But, the more I read, and the more I got to know both of these characters, well, it just worked. These two are truly an example of age only being a number, because they are just perfect for each other, and their story just made me happy.

It was a pleasure, as always, to see grumpy Gavin, snarky Cooper, and their lovely wives, because these brothers together are what make this series such a fun one. They are great foils for each other, and I really hope that we haven’t seen the last of them. Kendall, if you’re seeing this, take note. 😉

TEMPTING LITTLE TEASE is a spontaneous, fun, full-of-life little read, and it more than earns an easy 4 stars. While you don’t have to read these books in order, it helps to know the personalities at play, but TLT and the others can be read as standalones. With just the right mix of steam and sweetness, this is a book that belongs on romance TBRs. Grab it and divertiti!

“Have dinner with me tomorrow.” Lance waited for Brynn to either accept his invitation or try to find an excuse as to why that wouldn’t be the best of ideas. Honestly, he thought it was a fantastic suggestion. He gently rested his hand on hers when it was obvious she was going to stand and push her stool back. “I’ve missed you for far too long, blondie.”

Brynn pursed her lips to keep from smiling at the old nickname he’d given her back in high school. She’d gone through a phase of listening to the old rock band, and he’d caught her singing at the top of her lungs at one of the intersections in town. It was in that moment when she hadn’t thought anyone was watching that he’d caught a glimpse of the carefree woman she was on the inside. That one hapless unguarded moment had captured the heart of a teenage boy.

There were times throughout the last twelve years that he wasn’t sure he’d ever gotten his heart back, because he’d never been able to fully commit to any other woman. Then again, it might have had to do with the fact that he’d been deployed every so many months.

Military life was certainly hard on relationships, let alone committed ones.

“We went our separate ways, Lance,” Brynn said softly, though he could hear her regret. Still, she slowly pulled her hand from underneath his. “We can’t change what was done.”

“You’d be surprised at what could be changed if you want it bad enough.”

Lance stood and reached for his wallet, but the narrowing of her caramel colored eyes had him rethinking his gesture.

“This was two old friends having a drink,” Brynn said, tilting her head to one side as if she were sizing him up for some reason. “I’m not open for business.”

She only ever looked at him like that when she was about to propose something that would no doubt get them in trouble. He held up a finger and tossed her words back at her good-naturedly, though he respectively disagreed with her belief.

“We can’t change the past, as you said, so I’d rethink whatever it is you’re about to suggest.”

“Touché.”

Lance waited a few more seconds, hoping that she would throw caution to the wind and propose whatever had been on her mind.

“Stubborn,” Lance muttered with a shake of his head, her laugh ringing out over the bar as if it were Christmas. He hadn’t realized how much he’d missed home until this very moment. What surprised him most was that he thought of her as home. “I have missed you, blondie. I can’t help but wonder how much time we’re both going to waste pretending we’re just old friends.”
