Londyn McCormack is used to running. She’s been doing it for most of her life, and when the most recent chapter of her life takes a turn for the worse, the open road calls. But life has a way of making us slow down and appreciate things that might go unnoticed if we pass by too quickly. Sometimes our best lives can be found in the most unexpected people and places…

I’m an avowed Devney Perry fan. She writes it, I’ll read it. But I am not afraid to say that RUNAWAY ROAD, the first book in her new Runaway series, stole my heart and won’t let it go. And, you know what? I’m going to make the claim right here that this is one of my favorite of her books, like, ever.

I really like Londyn. For someone with her past, she’s darned good at picking herself up and making the most of things. But, as far as she’s come, she’s never forgotten the people that made up her family of choice, and the time seems right to reconnect with them. But…Life. Fate apparently has other plans in mind for Londyn, in the place of Summers, West Virginia, and the person of one Brooks Cohen.

Brooks Cohen, y’all. Can I just say, yes, please and thank you. He’s the real deal, a man of integrity and passion that makes settling down in a small town in West Virginia seem like the best idea ever. If there weren’t already many reasons to spend some time getting to know and love Summers, West Virginia, he’s it.

RUNAWAY ROAD is one of those books that goes by in a flash because it’s just so completely enjoyable that it’s hard to put it down. The characters, the chemistry, the setting, and Devney’s gift with words made this an easy 5-star read for me, and one that fans of contemporary small town romance with a pinch of suspense are going to love. Do you want it on your TBR? Yes, you most assuredly do. Grab it, read it, fall in love with these characters, and get ready for more Runaway goodness, because there’s plenty more to come. ❤️

I am not necessarily a fan of royal romances. There, I said it. BUT…When author Claire Contreras writes a book that is a royal romance AND a second chance romance AND a real Cinderella story, I say that I am all in. Triple play for the win, Claire.

I liked Adeline right off the bat. I mean, who hasn’t done things that they wish had never happened? She’s taken herself off to Marbela, the place that feels like a home away from home for her, and is giving the tempest some time to cool down. Adeline is all about doing her thing, and telling it like it is. Yep, even when she’s trash talking the heir to the throne of France, who just happens to be listening.

Was Elias my favorite from the get-go? Well, sure, he’s hot, but not always the nicest guy. But he grew on me. I mean, it can’t be easy to be ‘on’ all of the time, always in the public eye. All he wants is to be the leader that his country needs, while still following his heart. And his heart (and, yep, all of those other parts) wants Adeline.

I was hooked from the beginning of THE SINFUL KING, highly entertained, and rooting for these two to make things work their way. And not only was this book the perfect addition to my TBR, the writing, the characters, and the storyline all combine to create a world that I can’t wait to visit again. If you’re a fan of royal watching, you will love THE SINFUL KING, so make sure to pop it in you’re reading line-up and enjoy. ❤️

After the ending of SPARK (Book 1) left us all standing there with our chins on the floor, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on FLAME, the second book in the Web of Desire series by author Aleatha Romig. Where in the world was Aleatha going to go with Patrick’s and Madeleine’s story, and would it be as action-packed and twisty and turny as in SPARK? Well, of course, the answer to my questions is, yes, absolutely, and along the same twisty turny path that had me flipping pages in the first part of the story.

FLAME gives readers more of the back story between Patrick and Madeleine, especially the things that Maddie has gone through and done to save herself and all that is important to her. The lengths that she’s gone to are intense, and are a testament to the love and strength that drive her.

Patrick is alpha with a capital ‘A,’ and even more so once he finds out more about the secrets that Maddie is harboring. He and the Sparrows are definitely the ones that I’d want in my corner if the going got hinky, and with his not-so-vested interest in Maddie, he’s the perfect man for this job.

FLAME is the perfect follow-up to SPARK, and leaves plenty of room for action and answers both in ASH, the upcoming last book in this series. 4 easy stars for Patrick, Maddie, and their far-from-over story. If you haven’t been Aleatha’d, now’s the time. ❤️

Tracey’s Review

It didn’t take but a page or two of GREAT AND PRECIOUS THINGS by author Rebecca Yarros for me to know that this book was going to wreck me in the best possible way. Rebecca’s beautiful words, a world that I fell immediately into and became a part of, and a story that broke my heart and put it back together, make this a great book, and I was riveted, from beginning to end.

A decorated war hero back home in a town filled with people that have never understood him, Camden Daniels’s real strength is the lengths that he will go to for those that he loves, even when that love is not returned. Black sheep, town bad boy, the Daniels boy that will never measure up to either of his brothers, Cam knows what others, including his own father, think of him, but he’s ready to face his demons in order to help his family and the town that he loves. Cam had my heart from early on, and I absolutely adore him.

This book is, at its heart, a love story, but not just one of romantic love. Familial love, love of a place, and self-love are themes that Rebecca weaves throughout this beautiful book. Angst, anger, hatred, desire, love, reconciliation, heartbreak, all of these elements are here, and the story wouldn’t be the same without them. GREAT AND PRECIOUS THINGS is a book that will remain with me for a very long time, and have made me an immediate fan. My first 6-star read of this year, I cannot recommend it highly enough, and I look forward to my next great read from Rebecca. ❤️

I’m a hopeless romantic and adore all things chocolate, coffee and paleo. No, seriously, I need to have a caffeine IV put in. I’ve adored reading all my life, and writing naturally evolved from my love of late nights and promises of one more page.

I’m also a military wife of sixteen years. During my husband’s deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, I was devouring a book a day, and during his third deployment, I finally wrote my own. I knew going into this book that I would be meeting a man at a crossroads. Bastard Bachelor Society is the first book in this sassy, saucy, fun loving, and super sexy series. Brooks Bennett didm’t see this coming. He barely got to break in that blue velvet smoking jacket and cuban cigar.

Confession time: MAKING YOU MINE is my first-ever read by author Melissa Foster. That being said, Knox’s and Aubrey’s story is a fun, sexy, upbeat read that focuses, as I suspect Melissa’s other books do, on family, friends, and being true to one’s heart, and was just a great addition to my TBR.

What I enjoyed most about this book is the way that Knox and Aubrey smooth out the rough edges in each other’s lives. It’s not so much about change as it is helping each other to see how having each other makes all the other parts come together so nicely. Knox is able to help Aubrey realize that all work and no play leaves her a less-than-happy lady, and Aubrey’s close relationship with her family helps Knox to make changes in how he sees and approaches his own.

Melissa has written a lot of books, and plenty of characters from other stories are present in MAKING YOU MINE. While it’s nice getting to know stories and folks from the other books, I didn’t feel like I was missing out by picking up with Knox and Aubrey. I do feel, though, like I want to go back and catch up, because this book was so enjoyable to read.

The wrap-up to MAKING YOU MINE is the perfect segué to upcoming books, and definitely make me want to come back for a visit. An easy 4 stars, this book is the perfect combination of sweet, sassy, sexy, and HEA, and I look forward to getting to know many more of the characters in Melissa’s worlds. ❤️

It’s no secret that Devney Perry is one of my go-to authors for contemporary romance. Her characters and storylines have a way of grabbing us readers and not letting go, and her books always make my ‘favorites’ list. RIVEN KNIGHT, the second book in Devney’s Tin Gypsy series, and her latest book, firmly cements her place in my must-read category, and made for one of my recent favorites.

Although Devney’s books always have some sort of suspense, and angst to boot, I felt like she was taking things to another level with the advent of the Tin Gypsy series. I mean, a former motorcycle club, of all things. Not what I was used to from her, but I was all in anyway, and GYPSY KING (Book 1) made for a fantastic start to this new series. Subsequent books don’t always pack the same punch for me, but let me just say that RIVEN KNIGHT was just as engrossing, well-paced, and filled with surprises, and hooked me even more into the world of the Gypsies, and I was sorry to see it end.

When you find that thing that just does it for you, it’s nice to know that there is plenty more to come, and I am so excited to know that this is set to be a longer run of books, because I can’t imagine all of the twists, turns, surprises, and HEAs that Devney has planned for us. RIVEN KNIGHT is worth every single star, and a definite recommend from me. If you haven’t checked out the fine folks of Clifton Forge, MT, you simply must. ❤️

You had me at Kristen Proby, but make it a book about the Montgomery family of Seattle, and I am absolutely IN. I fell in love with Kristen and her characters in COME AWAY WITH ME, the first book in the With Me In Seattle series, and the love affair has only grown stronger with each successive book.

One of my favorite things about Kristen’s books is her strong, sassy heroines. Anastasia is a successful and secure woman in her own right, and I think that this is what draws Kane to her from the very beginning. Yes, there is a mutual attraction, but there is definitely something deeper at work that brings them together, and cements their feelings so quickly and so completely. Their shared creativity, their lust for life, and their strong commitment to family make them a power couple destined to be together.

Kane’s openness and honesty about his feelings for Anastasia and his desire to make sure that she knows that she is cherished, is not only swoony, but the thing that really works for me. I’m all for an alpha male, and he does have his moments, but the care that Kane shows in listening to Anastasia, and getting to know her on all levels makes him a keeper.

Seeing old friends, and meeting some new characters was a pleasure, and set the stage for some upcoming love connections and colorful family gatherings that I cannot wait to read. DREAM WITH ME is a real treat, and truly delightful. Grab it and enjoy. ❤️
