There isn’t enough wine or ice cream in the world to convince her things will turn around. When Blakely meets Slade Henderson, she’s left wondering why an early-thirties, hotter than hell, cardio-thoracic surgeon would take an interest in her. She’s been warned that he’ll break her heart, but she’s willing to take the chance. Not only is he helping her get that promotion, but in the process, he’s encouraging her to find the parts of herself she’s lost over the past few years. Slade shows her that good guys really do exist, but who knew the hardest part about turning forty would be realizing the man you thought was a rebound, is actually your happily ever after?

Tracey’s Review

It has been a hot minute since I’ve read a book by Kristy Bromberg, and I could not have found a more enjoyable way to dive back in than FLIRTING WITH 40. I’m not going to lie, this book is pure unadulterated pleasure, and I enjoyed every single page.

As a woman of a certain age, I identified with Blakely. Not only did her husband leave her for a younger woman, Blakely has had a hard time remembering that she is all of that and a bag of chips. For real, she’s smart, savvy, beautiful, funny, and, yeah, she’s almost reached the Big 4-0, but with maturity and her experience, she has seriously got so much to offer.

It takes a chance encounter in a bar with a very attractive and attentive man to kick off her journey back to herself, and what a way to go. Slade is my absolute favorite new book boyfriend. With plenty on his own plate, he jumps in to help Blakely see herself the way that he sees her, and regain the confidence to go for the things that she both wants and deserves in her life.

Kristy had me from the first page with this book, earning it a spot among my top favorite reads of this year. If a book grabs me by the heartstrings and won’t let go, while still managing to be sassy and sexy, too, it’s a keeper. FLIRTING WITH 40 is 4.5 stars of delightfulness, and a definite must-read for fans of contemporary romance with some angst thrown in. I could read books like this all day long, and if Kristy’s writing them, I’m all in. Make a place on your TBR for this one, and enjoy. ❤️

Meet Nana

USA Today Bestseller, Nana Malone’s love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she “borrowed” from her cousin.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, in the meantime Nana works out her drama, passion, and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.

Katherine Gates has been in love with Cash Greer since the moment he saved her life from a runaway goat. According to Cash, she’s the little sister he never had, the greatest roommate in the world and his favorite coworker. They’re friends—best friends.

In the dark days of her youth, it was her friendships that kept her alive and made life in a junkyard worth living. So she’s learned to shove her feelings for Cash down deep, even if that means ignoring eyes that shine brighter than the Montana summer sun and the smile that illuminates the snowiest winter day.

Except with every passing year, the denial takes its toll on her wounded heart until one day Katherine decides to take an impulsive road trip to the Oregon coast. Alone. That is, until Cash cons his way into the passenger seat.

The farther they travel, the harder it is to pretend. And when she confesses her feelings, she learns that Cash has some secrets of his own. Secrets that will either bond them together.

EXCERPT

“Why did you turn the air on?” she asked, looking above us to the open air.

“I’m hot.” Desperate. What would it take for her to put on a goddamn sweater? “Are you wearing sunscreen?”

“Uh, no.” She gave me a sideways glance. “Why?”

“You’re going to get burned.” Get the sweater, Kat. You know you want to.

“I’ll be fine. At the next gas station, I’ll grab a bottle for us.”

Us. Why did that word sound so serious? It wasn’t the intimate kind of us. There was no us. Not in the couple sense of the word. Did I want there to be an us?
Yes.

That lightning-fast internal response nearly had me slamming on the brakes, turning this car around and going back to Montana, where the world was normal.

Kat was my friend. My best friend. Roommate. Coworker. Pseudo sibling. There were days when I’d trade Easton for her permanently. Okay, any day. There were plenty of ways to label our relationship and us was not one.

I could not—would not—tear down the boundaries that nearly a decade and firm family reminders had put in place.

Tracey’s Review

I am more entranced with each book in the Runaway series by Devney Perry. More in love, more invested, more everything. I have been waiting for QUARTER MILES, Katherine’s and Cash’s book, since I reached the very last page of WILD HIGHWAY, because the promise of another great read was guaranteed, and I was not disappointed.

Unrequited love, forbidden love, friends to lovers, there’s all of this and more in QUARTER MILES. Katherine and Cash are a ticking time bomb, you know the type, just waiting for the right spark to ignite. The kind of unresolved tension that you can literally cut with a knife? Yeah, plenty of that here. Their road to happy is long and twisty, but when they get there, SO worth every bump.

Devney has cemented her place as a queen of contemporary romance, where small towns and family play a major role, and I cannot get enough. Her books consistently rank among my favorites, and are ones that I happily recommend as must-reads. I’m already dying for Aria’s story, FORSAKEN TRAIL, which can’t show up on my e-reader quickly enough. In the meantime, 5 stars for Katherine, Cash, and their heads and tails journey to love. ❤️

EXCERPT

I opened the door, a smile still on my face, and collided, headfirst, with a wall of muscle.

“Oh, sorry.” I looked up and my heart stopped.

The smell of leather and aftershave filled my nose. I looked up to see a pair of dark brown eyes hooded by long, onyx lashes. I took in the straight nose, the sharp jaw and strong chin.

My gaze dropped to the full lips I’d tasted once, on a night eleven years ago.

I’d never seen a face as symmetrical and so beautifully masculine as Easton Greer’s.

Even when he scowled, like he was now, it was a wonder.

He’d gotten even more handsome. How was that possible? He’d transformed from a young man to just a man, man. Rugged and rough and sexy.

“Gemma.” My name came out as a growl in his deep voice and I tore my gaze away from his mouth, taking a step back.

“Hi,” I breathed, the air heavy and thick.

He took a step away, then another, his glare unwavering.

Easton cast his scowl over his shoulder and spotted the Cadillac. “That yours?”

“Yes.”

“You’re staying here.” Not a question. An accusation. If he had it his way, I’d be uninvited.

I lifted my chin. “Yes, I came to see Katherine.”

His jaw ticked. “I thought we’d gotten rid of you years ago.”

Ouch. I guess he was still pissed about that whole sex in his room and waking up to find me gone.

But, good or bad, he hadn’t forgotten me.

Tracey’s Review

What author is going to take a beloved children’s series and build on it to create something totally new? Devney Perry, that’s who. I mean, I absolutely adored RUNAWAY ROAD, the first book in Devney’s Runaway series. I fell for Londyn and Brooks immediately, and I knew that this series was going to be a ‘move everything around if you have to, but read this’ kind of thing, because, OMG. Emotional and passionate, the books in this series are proving (no surprise) to hook me in from the first page, and keep me reading until the very last.

I love Devney’s storytelling, but even I wondered how she could follow up the first book in a way that would make the rest just as wonderful. Well, she did it. WILD HIGHWAY is imbued with all of the passion, all of the emotion, all of the ‘tug at the heartstrings and leave me a weeping mess’ intensity that I’d loved in RUNAWAY ROAD, plus some.

Gemma and Easton are second-chance romance at its finest. There is no way in the world that these two weren’t destined to be, because, even in the initial dance, you know, the one where they pretend that the other doesn’t exist, the pull between them was magnetic. Their story is filled not only with passion, but with heartache, with yearning, and, finally, love, and believe me when I say that I was a mess waiting for them to get to their happy.

I can’t get enough of these books, and I am dying to get my hands on QUARTER MILES, Katherine’s and Cash’s story, and next up in the series. In the meantime, 5 easy stars for WILD HIGHWAY, and a wholehearted recommendation to read these books. You will love them, I guarantee. ❤️

Excerpt:

“You’ll have to trust me.”

“Right. Trust the man who hides so much.”

“You kept things to yourself too.” He ground his teeth, and I could see the muscle of his jaw working.

Which unfortunately also drew my attention to his lips. And I could remember his taste, spicy on my tongue. The way he kissed, first with a sip that made you want to quench your thirst in one gulp. The slow, drugging kisses designed to make a woman moan without much effort.

Jesus, I needed to stop. I would not think about him kissing me, or him lifting up my skirt, bending me over the desk and spanking me. Nope, I was not going to think about that. “From now on, no more lies. I can’t take it. I need to know what you know.”

He narrowed his gaze at me then. “Got any more copies of this that you’re hiding from me?”

“Oh, nice. Real mature. That’s the only one. I’ve just given you my insurance policy; you have to give me yours.”

“No more lies.”

“Fine. And while we’re at it, can we get security for Telly and Carmen? Todd has heard me talk about them on the phone before. I don’t want them to be targets.”

The muscle in his jaw ticked. “Fine.”

I shifted on my feet. Do or die time. “Also, I’m not sure of the living arrangements. I don’t think I can go back to the loft.”

“You’ll be staying with me at Covington House.”

The way he said that, like a command, not a suggestion. That beautiful house with the pillars and the kitchen right out of Architecture Magazine. I hadn’t seen much of the space, but I would love to explore it. My brain slapped my pussy. Snap out of it, bitch. You’re not playing house. I cleared my throat. “I’ll accept because I have no choice. But so you know, if I had a choice, I’d be anywhere else but there.”

He approached slowly, as if he had all the time in the world. His smooth gait was catlike as he approached. The moment I could feel his heat I tried to back away. I knew I was weak. I’d lean in and sniff given half a chance. Stay strong. Stay strong.

“If it makes you feel better to say that, fine. But let me be clear. You and I, we’re not done. The conversation about us is still to be continued.”

I swallowed hard. Because that sounded so much like a warning. One my body didn’t want to heed. I said nothing as I turned to head to my office. I wasn’t going to let him see in my gaze that I wanted to stay.

Tracey’s Review

Nana Malone’s BIG BEN was one of my favorite books lately, and THE BENEFACTOR, Book 2 in the See No Evil trilogy, picks right back up with all of the action, all of the passion, and all of the suspense that made Book 1 such a great read. There is not a dull moment with Olivia, Ben, and the rest of the gang working to bring down the Elite and right the wrongs of the past. Page-turning, nail-biting, edge of the seat twists and turns make this the perfect follow-up to the first book, and, just like before, left me impatiently ready for more.

If romantic suspense with plenty of sizzle and snark are what you’re after, this is the series for you. I fell for Nana and her characters from the very first pages of the first book, and there’s been no looking back. As soon as FOR HER BENEFIT is in my hot little hands, all will be right with the world, and all of my questions will be answered. In the meantime, do yourself a favor and snap these books up ASAP.

And, P.S., Nana, if you’re reading this, how about books for Ben’s mates? This happy reader would be all in for it! ❤️

Living like a recluse in the hollows in the Smoky Mountains, he’s happy to keep to himself and is content to let locals believe he’s the town weirdo. Excerpt

By early afternoon, the crowd at the farmers’ market fades, leaving only stragglers, bargainers, and tourists sampling the charms of small town life.

I’ve had enough people for the week I’m looking forward to the quiet of my own company. All the talking and friendly chatter exhaust me. You’d think vegetables would sell themselves given they’re pretty self-explanatory. Yet folks wanna hear a story about a carrot being grown from the guy who pulled it out of the dirt himself. So I play my part of the happy farmer at the stand. It’s my bad luck I’ve always been charming. Part of my DNA.

My family has lived in the mountains surrounding Green Valley longer than anyone around here can remember. Before there was a National Park or even a Cades Cove, the Hills had established a homestead in the Smokies straddling Tennessee and North Carolina.

Because our last name is Hill, some people like to joke we put the hill in hillbilly. Jethro Winston for example. He’s hysterical. Some people think they have a sense of humor when they’re just being mean-spirited. As my Nannie Ida always says, glass houses provide good views, but then again, so do mirrors.

This is why I prefer the company of Patsy over most folks. She’s smart, a good listener, tidy, and doesn’t give a damn about my family and reputation. She has more class than a lot of the gossips and Sunday church-goers around here.

After I consolidate the remaining produce into crates and load up the van, I fold the tables and collapse my tent. While I work, the face of the brunette ranger floats through my mind.

She looked familiar but I didn’t recognize her name. It isn’t likely our paths have crossed. I don’t get out much and I’m not hanging around the bars or the visitor center in Cades Cove. Normally, one of my cousins covers the stand at the weekly farmers’ market and I can avoid the crowds. This is what happens when I let my guard down and am forced to engage with the public. I get iceberg and Bible quotes. I’ve never been a fan of either.

Bothered I’m still thinking about her, I close and lock up the van.

“Come on Patsy, let’s go for a walk.”

She gives a happy snort and steps closer to where her leash hangs on the top rail of her pen.

When the two of us stroll through town, folks stare. It’s worse when they insist on sharing a comment, tell the same old joke, and, in general, make a fuss. Honestly, I assume at this point people seeing the two of us together would be old news around here.

Guess some folks don’t have enough going on in their lives that they need to make commentary about people minding their own damn business.

I don’t understand what the big deal is about a man walking his pig.

Patsy’s excellent on a leash. Doesn’t pull. Has never instigated fights with dogs. Hasn’t bit anyone. Doesn’t do her business in the middle of the sidewalk. In my mind, she’s much better mannered than any old hound dog.

She’s pretty darn perfect in every conceivable way.

Except the one time she trampled Mrs. MacClure’s flower bed. Even that was my fault for not paying closer attention to where we were walking.

If I had to find fault with her, Patsy thinks she’s in charge. And she’s a little more than spoiled. I only have myself to blame.

“Clarice, please tell me you see that man walking his pig.” A woman shouts to her friend and points from about three feet away.

“I’m not invisible,” I tell her with a flat smile.

“Oh dear.” Her companion rolls her eyes. “You’re a tall drink of cool water, aren’t you?”

The question is rhetorical. Being compared to a refreshing beverage doesn’t require a response, so I remain quiet. Patsy tugs on her leash and releases a frustrated snort that we’ve stopped walking.

“You two have a nice day, m‘kay.” I step off the sidewalk to pass them.

I’d like to say their behavior is atypical. If I hear “You’re like the Jolly Green Giant. Only less green” one more time …

For the record, I am not jolly.

There must be something in the well water around here. We grow ‘em tall in Green Valley.

Does a pig need to be walked on leash for health and exercise? No.

I’m the only weirdo in all of Green Valley who likes to take my daily constitutional accompanied by a sow. Not even Cletus Winston is as much of an oddball as I am. And that’s saying something.

He’s only interested in pigs and boar in terms of sausage. In my opinion, he’s missing out. If we were friends, or even friendly acquaintances, I might suggest we partner up. Truffle salami can be incredible. Or so I remember. I don’t eat pork anymore. Not since I’ve had Patsy. I’d be offended if she ate human body parts around me.

Hogs will eat pretty much anything you give them. A few years ago a pig farmer went missing. Wife said he ran off with his mistress. Everyone believed her until his gold tooth turned up in the muck and mud of their hog pens. Macabre, but true.

I don’t eat pork and Patsy doesn’t eat me. It’s an unspoken pact between us.

Not that she’s some sort of demon pig crazed with bloodlust. Not at all. She’s the best pig in eastern Tennessee. Don’t need a blue ribbon from the state fair to make it true.

This leisurely stroll around town is all part of my ruse.

If someone sees us ambling someplace we don’t belong, they’ll leave us alone, which is the entire point.

There’s freedom in being a weirdo. Folks keep their distance. Sure, there are the asinine comments, but for the most part they assume I’m dim-witted or crazy. Fine by me. With or without my porcine sidekick, I’ve always been different. I learned early on that people like to form and hold onto their own opinions. Pointless to try to change someone’s mind. What they think of me is their problem, not mine.

Tracey’s Review

Okay, I’m just going to start off by saying that I absolutely adored this book. First off, it’s Daisy Prescott, and I was a diehard fan already. Add in that it’s part of the interestingly named but totally addictive Pennyverse (named for the book world created by author Penelope Reid), and also Odin Freaking Hill, and I am in love.

Daphne Baum is my kind of quirky. As the most recent addition to the team of rangers at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Daphne is in her element. Her past has made her a wanderer with a love of nature and a heart for the Divine. She’s also more than a little bit awkward, which makes her all the more engaging.

Odin Hill, of the Green Mountain Hills, has a storied past himself. He’s definitely marching to his own drum, and I absolutely love it. What I love even more is him and Daphne together. I honestly think that they’re surprised by each other, and the relationship that develops between them. But once they lean into it, their slow burn had me fanning myself, because it was all kinds of hot. I love a man that knows what he wants, and Odin definitely does, and he goes for it. And, let’s not forget, he has a pig. Named Patsy Swine. Does it get better than that?

Daisy has knocked it out of the park once again, because STRANGER RANGER is definitely on my list of recent favorite reads. Written with wit, humor, quirkiness, heat, and just the right amount of sweetness, this is a book that I would happily recommend, and will read again and again. ❤️

Tracey’s Review
When I pick up a book, any book, by author A.L. Jackson, the question is never “will I love it,” but “how much will this wreck me?” Because Amy’s books are emotional, heartfelt, romantic, and always, always, angsty, with emotion so palpable that it virtually leaps off the page. Honestly, I always need a little bit of time to gather myself before I can write a review, not because it hasn’t touched or inspired me, but because I’m busy putting my heart back together afterwards.

CATCH ME WHEN I FALL is the second book in the Falling Stars series, an off-shoot of the Bleeding Stars series that introduced readers to the boys of Sunder. I still haven’t quite recovered from those books, and this new series, the characters and their stories, are as devastating and redemptive as their predecessors.

There is so much pain, so much anger, so much loss, and yet so much love and forgiveness packed into this book. The pull between Royce and Emily is truly magnetic, and even before the revelation as to why becomes clear, there is no question that these two could keep from coming together, no matter how much they try to deny that force. That two so seemingly different people could coax the hidden strength from each other seems unlikely, but this is, after all is said and done, a love story, and crafted as only Amy can. Hearts shattered and put back together again, brokenness realized and repaired, hope extinguished and reignited. Love wins.

Per usual, five stars doesn’t seem enough for this story, which will stay with me for a very long time. And as with any storyteller worth their salt, Amy has planted the seeds for the next book in the series, and I can’t wait. Until then, I cannot recommend CATCH ME WHEN I FALL strongly enough. If you haven’t had the chance to fall in love with Royce, Emily, and the other members of Carolina George, give yourself the gift of doing so now. ❤️

GVL05-TEASER03

Excerpt

We had danced together before, the night I’d first met her. Months ago, I’d been at Genie’s with Wyatt to have a few beers and shake off the day. Instead, I’d danced all evening with the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. Every time I remembered holding her close, I had to fight against getting hard. Since that night, I had been half in love with her. The physical half was all in—I was attracted to her something fierce. The mental half didn’t know enough to start the fall, even though everything I learned about her drew me in and each day made me fall a little further. She was skittish with a fiercely sharp wit; she had been hurt. I could tell she was protecting a soft spot and it made me want to discover it so I could be the one to keep her safe.

But she had kept her distance from me—well, as much as she possibly could while living in the apartment in my basement—and we hadn’t touched again, not once. Having her crash into my arms just now was heady stuff. Her scent, the feel of her body, the warm press of her against me—she made me feel intoxicated, and I had yet to order a single drink. My heart was in danger, but I couldn’t make myself stay away.

“My sister…I’m sorry—” she stammered as she started to step back.

I tugged her closer instead of letting her get away. “Don’t apologize. Dance with me?” My hands drifted around her waist as I started moving us backward toward the dance floor.

“Oh, I don’t know if we should.” Hesitation flashed briefly in her eyes, but she acquiesced and followed me across the floor as I turned to hold her hand, giving it a gentle tug of encouragement.

Leaning to the side, I whispered in her ear as we walked. “It’s just a dance, Willard.” I pulled back and grinned down at her with a wink. Her gorgeous eyes—big and light blue like the summer sky—widened as she opened her mouth to say something, but I twirled her under my arm instead of letting her speak. Country music blasted through the bar, fast and wild. It left no room for hesitation. I yanked her into my arms. “Okay?” I shouted over the music.

My mother loved to dance; she taught all us boys how. A gentleman always takes his lady dancing. And maintains a respectful distance. I took a small step back, placing my hand on Willa’s upper back as our fingers linked together. With a step forward, she closed that distance to press against me once more. My lips curled up in a grin as her hand tightened in mine and her arm slid around my neck, hand drifting through the back of my tied-back hair. She wasn’t as immune to me as she pretended to be and I wouldn’t dare test that by stepping away from her again, even if it wasn’t gentlemanly. If she wanted me close, then that’s where I’d be.

Her gorgeous eyes twinkled in the lights as she smiled up at me and her body relaxed in my arms. “Okay, Everett. I’ll dance with you,” she breathed. Her voice was much too quiet to hear over the blaring music, but my focus on her gorgeous mouth allowed me to understand her words.

Quick, quick, slow—our easy Texas two-step was the same as everyone else’s on the floor but with her in my arms, this felt like so much more than a simple dance. I led her across the floor, spinning her out and pulling her back. I wanted to make her laugh again, like I did during our last dance so many months ago. I wanted her to want me as much as I wanted her. We had almost shared a kiss that night but were interrupted before anything could happen. She had the prettiest lips; full and soft and always pink. If I never kissed Willa before I died, it would be one of my greatest regrets. I had faith the right moment would present itself. As the song came to an end, I took both of her hands to spin her under my arms before dipping her low over my knee. Her ponytail brushed the floor as her neck arched back. She laughed, lifted her head and my heart skipped a beat as her eyes shone into mine with unbridled delight. Her sexy laugh tickled over my skin like I wished her hands would do and I felt the fall I was so afraid of coming even closer.

“God, you’re such a good dancer. Where’d you learn to dance like this, Everett?” she asked, slightly breathless and totally adorable as she beamed up at me. It seemed that dancing with Willa was one of the keys to get her to respond to me. I filed that fact away for future contemplation as I pulled her up and into my hold once again.

My smile turned sideways as I was about to admit my nerdy momma’s-boy truth to her. “From my mother,” I shouted over the music. “She loves to dance. My father tries, but he isn’t very good at it, so she taught all us boys how. We used to take turns two-stepping with her all over the living room.”

“That’s the sweetest thing ever,” she said. Score one for the nerds!

“One more?” I didn’t want to let her go yet.

“Sure, I have time for one more before I have to get back to work.”

With its slower beat and romantic lyrics, Lady Antebellum’s “I Run to You” changed the energy between us. The rise and fall of her chest as she sighed against me filled me with need as her forehead briefly rested on my shoulder and our fingers linked. I loved it that she was so tall. At six-foot-six I towered over most women, but Willa fit me just right. My need grew urgent as I wrapped my arm around her waist and my hand met the soft swipe of her skin, bared by the tied hem of her Genie’s tank top. Smooth and warm, it tempted me into thoughts inappropriate for our location. I inhaled a sharp breath to regain control. Dipping my head low, I took in her sweet scent as my cheek rested against hers—so soft. Her curly hair tickled my chin as my senses filled with nothing but her. Having her next to me felt right and I didn’t understand why. My heart raced out of control and I wondered just what it was about her that made me react so intensely.

She reminded me of a Palomino horse; all long legs, flowing light blond hair, and pale skin kissed with adorable freckles. Willa was some kind of wild, and totally free. I shut my eyes and pictured her running across her momma’s land up in the hills above town with her gorgeous hair flying behind her like a gold cloud, her laughter trailing through the air. God, she was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. I grit my teeth as my control started slipping away again. I was in danger of making a fool of myself. I was in danger of a lot of things, and a broken heart was at the top of that list.

“I love this song…” she whispered in my ear as she pulled away. Her head lifted from my shoulder as her hand trailed down my arm. She linked our fingers and I resumed leading her around the floor, rather than the slow sway we’d fallen into when the song started.

“Mm hmm,” I muttered as I gazed into her eyes and smiled faintly, at a loss for words.

She studied my face. “Everett, why do I always feel like when you’re looking at me, you really see me?” she murmured.

“I do see you. Sometimes you’re all I see,” I confessed, hoping it wasn’t too much, too soon.

Lowering her head, she tucked her blushing cheek into the side of my neck and sighed against my skin, leaving goosebumps in the wake of her breath. I continued leading her across the dance floor with my heart beating like crashing thunder bolts in my chest. I should be careful; I didn’t want her to end up being just another girl I fell for who didn’t want me back. Story of my life.

New Release + Release Blitz + 5 Star Review: Stone Princess by Devney Perry

We are excited to celebrate the release of STONE PRINCESS, the third book in the Tin Gypsy series from author Devney Perry. We have been waiting for Presley’s and Shaw’s book for forever, and it is SOOOO worth the wait. We know that you’ll love it, too, so make sure to grab your copy today!

Presley Marks has just become a cliché: the jilted bride. Wearing a white dress, standing in front of her friends and family, she announces that her fiancé—according to his text—has forgotten about the wedding.

Humiliated and angry, she hides from the world in the mundane routine of her life. Working at the Clifton Forge Garage isn’t glamorous, but it’s safe from the spotlight.

At least it was, until Shaw Valance comes to town.

The notorious Hollywood actor is starring in a movie based on the town’s infamous murder. When he’s not on set, Shaw hovers at the garage, watching as they build his custom motorcycle and irritating her with his handsome smile. He was supposed to leave once filming wrapped and go back to his fancy life, not buy the house next door.

But Shaw might regret that purchase once Presley’s ex-fiancé returns, bringing with him a war between old rivals that could burn both their houses down.

EXCERPT:

My realtor would have earned a higher commission if she had mentioned that the woman who lived next door was Presley Marks. “Isn’t this a surprise?”

“Is it?” Presley asked, frowning as I descended my steps and crossed the lawn, meeting her in her driveway. She raised a dark blond eyebrow. “Because it sort of feels like stalking.”

I chuckled. “I swear I had no idea you lived next door.”

But what a bonus. I wouldn’t have to make excuses to stop by the garage to see her. She could tear that insurance waiver to shreds. Presley had to know I didn’t give a damn about that bike they were building for me.

“You bought this house?”

“Yeah.” I reached for the grocery bags she had in her hands. “Here, let me help.”

She twisted away. “I’ve got them.”

“Come on.” I stepped forward and she took a step back. Wait, did she really think I was stalking her? “I’m just trying to help. I mean, I’ll probably start writing down your daily schedule so I can make sure our paths cross at least once a day. But that’s normal, right? For stalkers?”

“Are you being funny?”

My smile flattened. “I guess not.”

Tracey’s Review

I fall more in love with Clifton Forge and its residents with each of the books in the Tin Gypsy series by author Devney Perry. I had been looking forward to Presley’s story since the very first book, but I was not prepared for how much I was going to absolutely adore both her and Shaw. As usual, Devney sucked me right in, introducing me to another couple that goes right up on my list of favorites.

Along with great character development, there’s the usual kiss of suspense that is part of so many of Devney’s books, and I really appreciated the way that she continues to weave the stories of each character, each couple, into a beautiful and love-filled tapestry. The Gypsies and their circle are a real family, which is evident in every one of the relationships in these books.

This series just gets better and better, and I can’t wait to see what life holds for each of the characters. Luke’s book is up next, and, I have to admit, I kind of fell in love with him in STONE PRINCESS, so cue the breathless anticipation, because there’s no doubt in my mind that NOBLE PRINCE is going to deliver in the best way. If you haven’t started the Tin Gypsy series yet, you are truly missing out. Grab these books, and enjoy. ❤️
